NEWS AND INFORMATION

We are looking for volunteers to help beautify the foyer for the coming holidays. Anyone interested in joining this committee please talk to Delores Funk or Sue Funk today.

 

Hanging of the Greens will be held on Friday, Nov. 27 at 7:00 pm.  The Peace and Ed Committee has put Sunday School classes in charge of specific areas.  Even if you are not a member of a Sunday School class, please feel free to come this evening and help us decorate the church.  Please bring a plate of goodies for refreshments following the decorating.

-Serendipity Class – Sanctuary, outside manger scene, and nativity scene in foyer

-Class 12 – Fellowship Hall

-Senior Class – drinks and organize goodies 

 

Bethel College Sunday will be Nov. 22. The Bethel Women’s Ensemble will be presenting several musical numbers and Dale Schrag, Director of Church Relations will be bringing the message. There will be a potluck following the service.

 

Adult Sunday School offerings are being held by the treasurer since June when our Mission Partners, Kaz and Lois Enomoto, discontinued their service with Mennonite Mission Network. The pastor and deacons are in the process of developing another project in the place of our Mission Partner support.

 

The Hillsboro United Methodist Church invites you to join them for a reception and display of Youthville’s Art Exhibit “Walk A Mile” today from 2-5 pm at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church . This extraordinary exhibit highlights the artwork designed by youth to help express and share their journey in the Child Welfare System.

 

Stewardship speaker and popular author Lynn Miller will lead a series of renewal meetings at Tabor Mennonite Church on November 20-22. On Sunday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m., Lynn will tackle challenging parables and Biblical stories where Jesus spoke about money and wealth, with a message entitled "Jesus Said What?" The Carson House of Tabor College will be sponsoring a Ten Thousand Villages sale on Saturday, November 21 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Historic Church on the Tabor College Campus. For more information see the poster on the bulletin board.

 

The Tabor College Music Department together with the Hillsboro Area Ministerial Alliance will be presenting a Fall Concert, “With Praise and Thanksgiving”. The concert is Sunday, November 22, 4:00 p.m. at the Hillsboro MB Church. The Symphonic Band, Trombone Choir, Concert Choir, Cantate! and the Handbell Choir will be performing. The Ministerial Alliance will present their ministry in the community and surrounding area and an offering will be taken for their work. Admission is Food Donations for Main Street Ministries.

 

The Hillsboro Senior Center invites you to its Thanksgiving Meal Fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 6:00 pm. A musical program will be given by Vida Bartel. Cost is $4.50 for those under 60 years of age and $2.75 for those 60 and older. Extra donations are welcomed to help with the expenses of the Senior Center . RSVP to 947-2304 by Nov. 16 or sign-up at the Senior Center .

 

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Hillsboro MB Church on Nov. 16 from 2-6 p.m.  Call 1-800-448-3543 to make an appointment.
